Waxing - Goodbye, Hair!

My legs look like a man's legs. Lol! Aside from the fact that it's big, I have long, curly, leg hair! Eeew. I really don't mind my leg hair until one year ago, I just suddenly felt  I wanted the  hair gone. I thought of shaving it but I was too scared that if I shaved my legs the hair that will grow next will be thicker and longer. I wanted to use Veet, too, but my mom was scared that it may cause something on my skin.

A year ago, we decided to put up a nail salon and spa, waxing is one of the services we offered.. I researched and read all about waxing until I decided that I should try it myself. I read good reviews about Strip it! Cold wax , and after contemplating for weeks. I decided to order a small tub of cold wax just to try her product.

My sugaring kit (because the wax is made up of sugar and honey, very safe to use even on the face) arrived few days after I sent my payment. The seller was very friendly and she replied to my queries fast, by the way. The wax was slipped inside a small paper bag along with the "how to use" manual, a spautla (tongue depressor) and a good quality waxing cloth. All ready to use, no heating required.

*Oh s#?+!* was my first reaction followed by a lot of curses. Lol! :D It hurts so bad that I wanted our nail technician to stop already! But she was persistent (I hated her then!). It hurts most on the part where my hair was long and curly but doesn't hurt that much on other parts. After waxing, I felt exhausted, but felt light and I kept touching my legs! Haha!  It was smooth but reddish. But the redness was gone the next day. I was addicted from then on.

Stip it! Cold wax
I wax myself whenever I need to. I still use Strip it! and bought a bigger tub. I also bought extra spatulas at Watson's drugstore for P2.50 each and extra waxing strips/cloth at P30/ 12strips. I love waxing my legs! It doesn't hurt anymore, is it because I'm probably immuned with the pain already?

So ladies and men (yes, they do have suagring kit for men, too!), instead of shaving, use cold wax. You can do it all by yourself or let your friend or sister do it for you while chit-chatting :)

P.S I'm not a personal friend nor didn't get paid to do this, I'm just a satisfied client and I want to share the product to all the ladies out there :)

Themes and More

I'm currently downloading themes for my phone right now. A friend told me almost 3 years ago about the site Zedge where you can download themes. They have a vast collection of themes, ringtones, wallpapers and games in different categories: cartoons, logos, love, nature et cetera. I just love their site because everything is organized and I find it really easy to download a theme.

1. Go to their site
2. On the upper right corner of the screen, click the Phone selector button (under the Sign Up / Log In buttons).
3. Then, this dialog box pops out

Choose your brand then you model. Click "Select Phone"

4. You can now choose theme/s you want to download. Do it one by one. Click the image of the theme you want and then this screen should pop out

5. If you want to see a preview of the menu in this theme, click "More screenshots". If you're downloading via you phone, click "Mobile web". If you're using your personal computer, click "PC download.''
6. Click the button "start downloading" then click Save.
7. You can download more themes if you want then transfer them all at the same time. Just copy and paste the theme to your memory card or phone memory and store it in your "theme" folder.

Easy, right?

I haven't tried downloading games, wallpapers and ringtones, yet, but I will try it soon. Membership is free, download all you want!

TIP: You'd sometimes have to change your date settings when the notice "certificate error" (not the exact words) shows upon applying your theme. Try to change just the year and try to apply your theme once more.

HTH! :)

Booksale

My favorite bookstore is Booksale! Why? As what their tagline says "we make reading affordable". You can find books for as low as P15 - hardbound! Isn't that a good deal? Aside from the price, Booksale has a wide selection of books and magazines. They do have the "rare ones", too!

I love visiting Booksale and spend hours and hours inside. It's like when I'm inside their shop, I feel like I'm in heaven!  I visited Booksale yesterday. While my mom was having her facial, I was engrossed in books. Reading summaries, studying book covers and authors. I bought 2 books courtesy of mom, this time. I'm really excited to finish the book I bought 2 weeks ago and start on my new books!

My mom usually complains "mas marami pa ang books mo kaysa sa damit mo!" lol if only books can be worn! My mom is a wide reader, but her favorite are biographies. She reads and collects books as well. I got my reading habits from her. When I was young, she keeps on encouraging me to read books, her line would always be "pag nag-basa ka ng book, para kang makakapunta ka sa iba't ibang places". I like reading love stories and stories that gives hope and inspires. She started collecting books for me when I was still young. I remember visiting Goodwill bookstore in Makati near her work. She bought me Baby-sitters little sister and Nancy Drew books (which I don't remember reading). She bought my brother books, too. We almost completed the collection, by the way.

It's cool that my brother's starting to read, too. He's into Sherilyn Kenyon's books. He reads before he sleeps and sometimes, when he's bored.

Recently, we donated our books to a library somewhere in the province. I really don't know where. Our neighbor asked for our books and said they'll be opening a library and asked us if we want to donate them. My father happily said yes, because he doesn't know where to put them in our new house.

HAPPY READING! :)

Party!

My grandmother (father's side) is turning 75 this sunday! Thank you, God, for giving her another year! We'll be celebrating her birthday this sunday at home in Malabon. She hates surprises and doesn't even want anything on her day. But that can't be. It's her birthday and she's 75. So we're throwing her a simple party!

We only have one week left to prepare. We've all been very busy and realized that her birthday is already on sunday!

Our menu for sunday - not final yet:
   KareKare (Tradition)
   Fried Chicken (Tradition again)
   Lasagna - something new!!!

Since we, kids, (ahem) are incharge for the preparation, we've thought of a theme and other silly stuff :P the theme is Disney Princesses (Sorry, we can't think of anything else! We considered Hello Kitty since we all looove Hello Kitty but decided to pick Disney instead.) We'll be getting balloons on sunday morning, party hats and a happy birthday banner. We also decided to put silly labels on the dishes like:  fried chicken - Pride Chicken. My grandmother will be wearing a tiara instead of a party hat and we've started doing her birthday gift, too. We're all so excited for sunday! And we're hoping for a good weather and a fun filled day!

Everything Beauty

The things I want to try and buy soon! How soon? I still don't know. :p I'm still in the process of researching and looking for sellers online and saving money.

V&M Bare it all cream (I wanna try the mentholated mango mandarin dash)
Price:  P225 per 100g tub, P580 per 300g tub

V&M Lulur Soap
Price: P195 per 120g bar,  P 00 per 60g bar

Burts Bees Lip Shimmer - I already lost my Rubarb colored lip shimmer, I wanna try another color next.
Price : P495 at Beauty Bar

I'm currently using a generic Honey Oatmeal soap bought at a drugstore in Malabon. It doesn't smell organic to me, I can still smell some chemical. I'll just finish one bar of that soap then buy the lulur soap I want after!

34 days! (YAY!)

My most memorable birthday was my 19th. My mom took me to Bangkok, stayed there for 8 days and she bought me a digicam so I can take pictures ( I lost the camera 6 months after. And as for the pictures, I transferred them to our PC and was shocked one day that my brother had to reformat it and didn't made a back-up file!) We did a lot of shopping at night markets and at MBK.

It's now October! October 5 to be exact and 34 days from now, I will be celebrating my 24th birthday! Thank you, God! I know it's going to be extra special this year becuase I'll be celebrating with my family and with James in Iloilo! Thanks to Cebu Pac's seat sale  I'm currently busy looking for accommodations, day tour packages and preparing for our itinerary. City tour on our second day, Guimaras on our 3rd and 4th day. Sounds exciting! Thanks, Google and FemaleNetwork for the great help! I'm really hoping everything will turn out well. (fingers crossed). This is my most exciting birthday so far! :)
